About our school
We are a vibrant, culturally diverse community where families from all backgrounds are warmly embraced. Our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Achievement and Teamwork are central to everything we do and drive us as a community.
At Salisbury North Primary, we are passionate about building a culture of high expectations. We believe that all students, regardless of their background, can succeed, and we work to create an environment where every student believes in their potential. Together, we are fostering a culture of success where students are supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our school uses a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework, which is fundamental in supporting student well-being and promoting positive behaviours throughout our school. This approach helps create a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment where students are motivated to do their best.
In the classroom, we adopt a multi-tiered system of support for literacy and mathematics. This ensures that every child, no matter their learning level, has access to targeted, high-quality instruction designed to support their individual needs. By providing tailored support, we ensure all students can progress and achieve success.
We offer a range of extra curricular programs and activities to ensure that your child’s strengths are valued, including choir, SAPSASA sports and Children’s University. Student voice is vital to ensuring our that our students are making decisions alongside their teachers. This is best exemplified by their involvement in SWAT (Student Well-being Action Team) who meet regularly to discuss the needs of our students and the school.
Our EALD learners and families are supported by Bilingual SSOs and Cultural Liaison Officers who can support with learning and language, as necessary. We have a proud Aboriginal Community and have two ACEOs and an Aboriginal Education Teacher who support our students with a range of initiatives that support engagement and cultural connection, including Nunga Languages (Kaurna), community yarn sessions and celebrations for Reconciliation and NAIDOC Weeks. Drop in to the Paitya Wardli Room for a yarn with one of our ACEOs to find out more.
